Last year I posted about the naturalization papers for Joe's father
Paolo Michele Mangiafico. When he came to America he stated that the relative he was going to join was Rosario Bologna who resided at 4 N. Square St. Boston, Mass.

I was hoping that cousin Rosario would lead me to information about Paolo's mother or father, but I'm having trouble even pinpointing the correct Rosario Bologna.

This Rosario traveled with his wife Emanuela Gallo and son Salvatore Bologna. It seems that the Italian women always traveled under their maiden name.
The relative they left behind was Carmela Gozzo
This is a bit confusing, but I am assuming that "Gozzo" was her maiden name since the daughter Emanuela was listed with the last name "Gallo".
The relative they were going to join was cousin Sebastiano Gozzo. I am assuming he was Emanuela's cousin.
Then I discovered that this same Rosario came to the U.S. once before in 1912. He left his wife in Italy at that time and went to join cousin Paolo Perrolla(?) in Connecticut.
And then I found this other passenger list for a Rosario Bologna:
Name: | Rosario Bologna |
Arrival Date: | 22 Jun 1914 |
Birth Year: | abt 1881 |
Birth Location: | Sicily |
Birth Location Other: | palazzolo |
Age: | 33 |

Would you like to take a guess who the relative was that this Rosario Bologna was going to join in Boston, Mass. Well it's none other than cousin Rosario Bologna who resides at 5 North Square in Boston, Mass.
Are you confused yet? I sure am! Since the latter Rosario Bologna is joining cousin Rosario Bologna at 5 North Square he must be referring to the Rosario who married Emanuela. But which one is Paolo Michele's cousin?!
All I know is that the cousin Rosario I am looking for was residing at 4 North Square in Boston, Mass. in September of 1920. The only Rosario Bologna I could find in Boston in 1920 lived on Salem Street and was married to Brigida.
The latter Rosario and his wife Teresa were living in Waterbury, Connecticut in 1920.
This is all giving me a headache. Sure would love to solve this mystery!
